The filter, an essential element of the spa

The role of the filter is to remove particles and dirt that may enter your spa tub water. The quality of your water therefore depends on the ability of your filter to do its job properly. If it's worn and clogged, the water you bathe in will be dirty. All this will be felt, not only at the level of your health, but also at the level of the filtration pump, and can thus deteriorate it. It is therefore essential to take care of this element so that the spa filtration can be done properly.

First method: manual cleaning

First of all, it is important to note that the cleaning of the filter should be done according to the number of users. Ideally, you should do this at least every fortnight.

As for the tools, you will just need a special filter cleaning brush, and a garden hose. Just clip one over the other and you can remove all residue and foreign material between the folds.

The filter cartridge should also be cleaned with a non-foaming solution. This should be done every 3 or 4 months, when you empty your spa.

Second method: automatic cleaning

There are devices designed to thoroughly clean your spa filter. The principle consists in making the latter turn on itself, while powerful jets cross the folds. If you're not the type to get your hands dirty, this is the best way to get effective results. In addition, the use of this device does not require electricity or chemicals. It only works with good water pressure.

In any case, there is a little trick that will allow you not to quickly wear out your filter. It is a matter of rotating between two filters. Therefore, if one is cleaning, you will be using the other which is already clean and dry.
